Pope Francis assured Ukrainians of his closeness to them during a visit to the basilica of Santa Sophia in Rome last Sunday. He said he was “close with my heart, close with my prayers … I beg the Prince of Peace to silence the weapons.” The country has been affected by war since Russia’s intervention in 2014.
“Behind each of you there is a mother, a grandmother who transmitted the faith,” the Pope said. “Ukrainian women are heroic, thank the Lord.”
Paris pro-life rally draws 40,000
The March for Life in Paris drew 40,000 people despite heavy rain last week.
Emil Dupont, March for Life spokesman, told ACI Prensa it was “important to break the silence and speak about the consequences of abortion”.
