The Requiem Mass of the late television presenter Cilla Black will be held at St Mary’s Catholic church in Woolton, Liverpool, today at 1pm.
Liverpool auxiliary Bishop Tom Williams will celebrate the Mass, during which Sir Cliff Richard will sing his hit song “Faithful One”.
The order of service will include Psalm 23, “The Lord is My Shepherd”, a reading from the Book of Wisdom (3:1-9) and a reading from the Gospel according to Luke (24:13-16, 28-35).
Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck will read the bidding prayers and Cilla Black’s famous hit “Anyone Who Had a Heart” will be played during Communion.
Television host Paul O’Grady will deliver a concluding address and the Beatles song “The Long and Winding Road” will be the recessional song.
Cilla Black, born Priscilla Maria Veronica White, died on August 1 while on holiday in Spain. She is survived by her three children Robert, Ben and Jack.
