Pope Francis will visit a prison that houses a convicted priest when he visits Philadelphia in September.
The Pope will visit Philadelphia’s Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility during his stay in the city for the World Meeting of Families.
Among the prisoners will be Mgr William Lynn, the 64-year-old former secretary for clergy for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Mgr Lynn was the first Church official convicted for a supervisory role over priests accused of having sexually abused minors.
Following his visit to the prison, Francis will celebrate the concluding Mass of the World Meeting of Families at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
