1 Ratcliffe College in Leicestershire has recorded an increase in its overall GCSE pass rate. Its mathematics department has attained a 100 per cent pass rate in both GCSE Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
2 Hazel Boadu-Antwi, a student at Our Lady’s Convent High School in north London who was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2016 and is now in remission, has gained 2 As, 1 B and 3 Cs at GCSE.
3 Michael Williams, a pupil at The Oratory School in Woodcote, South Oxfordshire, has earned 9 A* GCSE grades.
4 Max Lubowiecki, a student at St Benedict’s School in Ealing, west London, has achieved straight A* grades, with grade 9 in English and Maths.
5 Pupils at St George’s College in Weybridge, Surrey, are celebrating their best set of GCSE results. Forty-five per cent of grades were A* – five percentage points above last year.
6 Girls at Loreto Grammar School in Altrincham, Cheshire, have broken the school’s all-time record in this summer’s GCSE examinations. Seventy-four per cent of all grades were A* or A or the equivalent.
7 Sophie Paul, a student at Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy in Derby who completes the majority of her lessons in Braille, has achieved one A*, two As, three Bs, two Cs, an 8 and two 7s at GCSE.
8 Pupils at Stonyhurst College in Lancashire have seen another strong year of GCSE results, with half earning grades 7-9 under the new system, equivalent to A* or A grades.
9 At Grays Convent High School in Thurrock, Essex, 72 per cent of students have gained the new headline figure of English and maths combined standard passes or more.
10 Girls at Farnborough Hill in Hampshire have achieved a 86 per cent A* – B GCSE pass rate.
