Pope Francis on Saturday praised the worldwide Christian marriage ministry Retrouvaille for giving spouses the opportunity to overcome crises in their relationship and grow as a couple. The pope met members of Retrouvaille at the Vatican Nov. 6. The lay-led ministry runs a Christian program to help struggling couples overcome difficulties and restore their marriage.

Catholic schools in Guernsey will be permitted to appoint only Catholics as head teachers following a vote rejecting a proposed anti-discrimination measure. Leaders in Guernsey instead voted in favour of an amendment that would maintain the status quo on the island, meaning that a Catholic school can require its head teacher to be Catholics.  Bishop
