Pope Francis an unscheduled visit to a children’s hospital in Bangui on Sunday evening.
According to Vatican Radio, the Pope met with patients and staff at the hospital in Central African Republic’s capital, taking medicine with him, donated by Rome’s Bambino Gesu children’s hospital.
During his visit to the mosque, the Pope called on Muslims and Christians in the conflict-ravaged country to reject hatred.
“Christians and Muslims and members of traditional religions have lived peacefully for many years,” he said.
“Together, we say no to hatred, to vengeance and violence, especially that committed in the name of a religion or God.”
