Pope Francis is seeking advice on “the Church’s portrayal in Western entertainment” from TV host Oprah Winfrey and actor Matt Damon, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The magazine said that invitations had been sent to the pair for an autumn summit at the Vatican.
Media moguls Brian Grazer – who produced TV series such as 24 and Arrested Development – David Geffen, Patrick Whitesell and Ari Emanuel have also apparently been invited to the meeting.
The Pope will be in the United States from September 22 to 27. It will be the first time he has visited the country.
