What sort of headgear does a priest need? Anything but a saturno, according to Pope Francis.
In an exchange with Jesuits in Madagascar last month, whose transcript was recently released, the Holy Father remarked: “Have you never seen young priests all stiff in black cassocks and hats in the shape of the planet Saturn on their heads? Behind all the rigid clericalism there are serious problems.”
Some priests disagreed with the Pope’s comments, posting pictures of themselves wearing the hat in question.
Canon lawyer Edward Peters thought there might be a broader trend here. “I predict the return of the saturno among clergy,” he tweeted. “For that matter, as the Kennedy (killed the hat) generation shuffles off this mortal coil, watch for hats in general to return to men.”

“Jesus is King”. No, not an early homily for the feast of the Kingship of Christ, but the title of the next album by the multi-million-record- selling rapper Kanye West. He and his family are Armenian Orthodox.
The album, described by The Sun as “an evangelical rant about the evils of the modern world”, signals a new direction for West. He has reportedly announced that from now on he will only produce gospel music.
