St Mary’s College is a proud and special place. Judged outstanding by OFSTED, outcomes have remained well above national averages at KS4 and KS5 for many years. In fact, outcomes have consistently improved year on year. We are one of just two Lead World Class schools in the UK.
We have just been awarded Teaching School Hub status which is a huge opportunity to work with a wide range of partners to help improve standards for children across the region.
With an unrivalled local and regional reputation, St Mary’s College is an 11-19 Academy serving over 2300 students including almost 700 in the sixth form, making it the largest Catholic school in the country and the fifth largest in all. It is part of St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust within the Diocese of Middlesbrough. Alongside responsibility for St Mary’s College, the successful candidate will play a key role in the leadership of the trust working alongside several experienced colleagues including two NLEs.
The staff and students at the College are quite remarkable. Levels of collaboration and partnership working are profound and humbling. Welcoming and inclusive of all, the College is simply a great place to work and a great team to be part of.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to take up the role of Head of School. This person will be an inspirational and courageous leader who has the intellect, imagination and experience to support and equally to challenge all of us to even greater things in service of the young people.
