Since the passing of the Abortion Act in 1967 there have been over six and a half million terminations in Britain alone, at a rate of 500 every working day. Tragically, one in every four pregnancies now ends in abortion.
Abortion is always a tragedy. Thankfully, there are groups in Britain who help women and girls to keep their baby. They depend on the many generous parishioners around the country, who offer baby clothes, equipment and financial support.
One of the most active supporters of pregnant women and new mothers, Right To Life (RTL) is a leading political lobbying group and, in conjunction with the All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Committee (APPLG), works constantly to preserve and protect the lives of those threatened by abortion, euthanasia and related activities. On September 4 RTL has organised its fifth sponsored walk across the eight miles of Morecambe Bay.
The walk is not easy. A Queen’s Guide and his colleagues lead the walkers across treacherous sands, sometimes in spite of gale-force winds and rain. Almost all of the money received at RTL goes into campaigning and caring work with their overhead costs at a minimum. They need to raise urgently needed funds to extend their work.
Pro-abortionists persistently deny that women experience post-abortion trauma and also claim that the unborn baby cannot feel pain before the 24th week of pregnancy. Abundant evidence shows that both of these claims are wrong.
RTL wants to invite specialists of international authority to Britain to address Parliamentarians and others on this issue but cannot afford the necessary fares and expenses. If you would like to take part in the walk or would like to support the efforts of Right To Life, contact Moira Billinge at [email protected] or phone 0151 291 7728.
