The Watermead Apostolate has produced a striking Christmas label as part of the Christian campaign to Keep Christ in Christmas.
The message is suggested rather than stated in “CHRISTmas GREETINGS”. The wishes belong to family and friendship and the baby Jesus nestles softly in the manger of “XMAS”.
The apostolate started by offering the labels free, intending to accept any donations that came and pass the profit to charities that our apostolate supports (Let the Children Live, SPICMA, Practical Action an the St Vincent de Paul Society).
But when the requests did start to come they realised that in fairness to those who wanted to help them share the labels (other organisations, retail shops, their own internet shop, etc.) there were necessary distribution costs that had to be met and so the apostolate is making a small charge. Details on the website Watermead-apostolate.com for those with internet access, but approximately £1 will cover the cost of posting out 100 labels.
The Watermead Apostolate’s purpose is to quietly witness to the Christian faith. An attractive message at the left corner of an envelope will complement whatever stamps are bought from the Royal Mail, or may even serve as a stamp for the cards given to family, friends at church and around the neighbourhood.
Readers are invited to visit the website, Watermead-apostolate.com, email info[at]watermead-apostolate.com, call 0116 220788, write or, best of all, visit the beautiful Watermead Centre at the Old Stable, St Joseph’s, 12 Goodwood Road, Leicester LE5 6SG.
