Director of Finance and Resources

Salary: £68,000. Hours: Full time. Location: Poringland, Norfolk.

Purpose

The Director of Finance and Resources is a crucial role responsible for the effective deployment of the Diocese’s financial and

other resources in line with the objectives of the Charity and the decisions of the Bishop. The Director will work closely with

the Bishop, the Diocesan Priests, other staff of the Curia and the Charity’s Trustees, to ensure the well-ordered stewardship of

the Diocese’s finances and resources, and manage the finance and general office services. In addition, this post-holder is the

line manager of the General Manager of the Cathedral of St John the Baptist Complex in Norwich.

Who we are looking for

You will be a practising Catholic or similar, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the Church and its structures, a

commitment to the Church and the future of the Diocese. You will be committed to working collaboratively and

enthusiastically, able to influence, exercise diplomacy, innovate and lead. Key qualifying descriptors:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CCAB) or equivalent;
  • Experience in corporate governance;
  • Senior level experience in financial sector;
  • Management capability across simultaneous initiatives, to tight timescales;
  • Vision to work with professionals in other disciplines (property, quantity surveying, architecture, law, project management etc.);
  • Strategic thinker;
  • An in-depth knowledge of financial and accounting systems and procedures, and proficient in IT delivery;
  • Proven track record of handling budgets and delivering financial sustainability
